Camden Lunchbox kiosk gets new life as a soup, sandwich and smoothie stop

The Camden Lunchbox (CLBX) was originally established during the Spring of 2018 by the Camden Community Partnership (formerly Cooper’s Ferry), partnering with Cathedral Kitchen and Respond Bakery. Custom shipping containers were outfitted into full service kitchens, and strategically placed in Roosevelt Park at the foot of  City Hall in Camden, NJ. 

The CLBX quickly became a community favorite and a destination where patrons could enjoy outdoor space in the park during their lunch breaks.

A few words about our chef

In winter 2022, Signatures 315 will find its new “home” in the Camden Lunchbox, headed by Camden native Chef Darrell Gaffin.
His latest reinvention brings him back to his hometown: He's lending his name, his recipes and his expertise to Camden Lunchbox, a to-go spot opening within the next few weeks in a kiosk outside Camden's City Hall.
Darrell Gaffin has lived a few lives since he left Camden. But most of them centered in some way around food. He's cooked at chains including Red Lobster and Champps. He lived in Virginia, Raleigh, North Carolina, and Atlanta. He worked as a chef at Duke University and ran a catering business. He worked in restaurant management but missed cooking. He started all over again from scratch as a line cook at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens' Longleaf Restaurant, learning about farm-to-fork cooking and working his way back to assistant executive chef. Right now, he's the kitchen operations manager for CookUnity, a chef-driven meal delivery service. He lives in Atlanta with his girlfriend, a fellow Camden native, and still caters and works as a personal chef.
